Is A DDR2 Graphics Card Compatible with DDR3 RAM?

So I purchased a Diamond Radeon HD 2600 Pro Video Card. It fits in my motherboard (Intel DX38BT Motherboard)... BUT I don't know if the Graphics card will run on DDR3 RAM.

There shouldn't be any memory compatibility problems in this case, the DDR2 memory is located on the video card and is what the video card is using to form graphics, the DDR3 on your motherboard is for the rest of the system and applications to use.

Like the poster above indicated, your big point of compatibility for the video card will be if you bought the right slot type for your system. (AGP or PCI-e, or what you need)

Yes. The only thing you need to worry about is AGP/PCI express compatibility.

Abit of an unbalanced system, bottom-end graphics card with high-end mobo =P ddr3 is a waste for CPUs IMO (huge price premium for almost no advantage), but gddr3 is much better than ddr2 on gfx cards. and yes it'll work fine because the RAM for the CPU, and for the GPU are independant.

Video card technology means little as long as the slot is the right one. the big concern is power supply as long as u're power supply CPU and RAM will support it, then no problem.

lol ram doesnt have anything to do with video card compatability...
